I hope everyone is having a great 4th of July weekend. We're celebrating with all the activities our town has and hoping the weather holds out for us.

My Swim Baby - Review & Giveaway!

As mentioned earlier this week - we are in the middle of swimming weather and we love spending time at the pool. What I don't like is that you have to purchase a swim suit and swim diapers for children that aren't potty trained. I understand why and I believe it's a good reason, but the disposable swim diapers that I see most people using (I've used them too) just don't work for us. That's why I was really excited to find the iPlay Swim Diaper Tanksuit for my daughter from My Swim Baby.

I absolutely love the iPlay Halter Tanksuit for my daughter. I've had other swim diaper suits before, but this is by far my most favorite. Not only does the suit fit great, it's also modest for a 2 year old and is going to keep whatever messes we have at the pool contained. You can't even tell that she has a swim diaper under her suit, other than it's a little bulky - it absorbs and is made of woven nylon to wick away the moisture. I also like that you put the suit on and it's fitted around her waist to keep the bottoms close to her bum as well, like a diaper underneath but all fitted together. This particular iPlay Tanksuit comes in a selection of colors, maybe you're not into the tanksuit, there are several other kinds of iplay suits and items available at My Swim Baby as well.

Bummas - Review & Giveaway!

I love being a cloth diapering mother, I really cannot imagine using anything but cloth diapers for our family and that's why I also only use cloth wipes. Not only does using cloth wipes make the changing process a lot easier with cloth, no separating garbage with wash items, it's better for my daughters skin as well. Bummas are a great wipe product, that don't have to be for just cloth diaper users or used as wipes.

We've been using the Bummas wipes for quite awhile now on my daughter sensitive skin - they work great for cleaning her bottom. Made of 100% cotton, woven velour terry cloth. I use a wipe solution, spray it on and they're soft and easy on her skin. The only thing for us is if we have a big mess they're a bit small and I would prefer them to be just a bit bigger, however considering the size of the fabric it wipes more away then you would expect. They have not begun to fade or fray at all, which is nice to find in a wipe. Bummas are also great for drying the babies skin after using a regular wipe that from in the past I've noticed leaves a lot of wetness that you don't want to leave on your babies bottom covered up with a diaper. Also great for laying in your diaper to help heal a rash, for bath time, stopping those unexpected squirts while changing and more. Bummas also come in different colors- all very cute!

I made the Lil Miss Jenny doll for my daughter who isn't quite old enough to sew her own doll yet. This doll was fun to make and turned out really cute! My daughter LOVES her Lil Miss Doll! In my opinion, these dolls are the perfect project for the "tween" crowd as they are fashionable and fun to make and trade outfits but the dolls still have a young girl type body rather than the inappropriately proportioned fashion dolls you'll find in stores. I'd consider the Lil Miss Doll patterns somewhere between beginner and intermediate skill level. The instructions are straight forward and easy to understand but some of the techniques used might be a bit challenging for a real beginner. The only flaw I found with the Lil Miss Dolls pattern/instructions was a kind of major one. When cutting your fabric pieces, it directs you to cut 4 leg and arm pieces but neglects to tell you you'll need to reverse the pattern for 2 of each of those if using reversible fabric, which you will be if you order the kit. I unfortunately did not realize this until after I cut the fabric and did not have enough fabric left to re-cut the pieces so my doll ended up with no feet as the pieces did not line up correctly. Luckily I realized it before I cut the arm pieces. I think it still turned out very cute!

Ingrid & Isabel - Review!

Being pregnant during the hot time of the season can be a bit exhausting, however with some cool, cute maternity clothes you can beat the summer heat and still look great. Ingrid & Isabel has some of my most favorite maternity tanks for summer.

I've been wearing out my ruched tank from Ingrid & Isabel - made of Nylon and Spandex I'm able to keep cool, while proudly showing off my growing bump as I get bigger. As many of you know I'm a huge fan of ruched shirts and this was my first tank that really drew me into loving ruched items more and more. It gives it style while really giving you a slimming look, me having a short torso I love that. This shirt gives you great support and even though I have a shorter torso this is extra long for tall people too. You cannot go wrong purchasing this tank - it's fabulous!

I also tried out the everyday cami. I pretty much don't go without a cami under my clothing and what I love about the cami from Ingrid & Isabel is it gives you a snug, supportive fit, while being long enough for your growing belly. Easily worn under everything because it doesn't bunch up like some cami's do. Cami's are a must have in every one's wardrobe in my opinion and this is a great maternity cami that can be worn through your pregnancy and after.

Aerin Rose - Review & Giveaway!

It's that time of the year - it's hot, muggy, humid, sticky and my favorite season of the year. What better way to cool off than swimming right? That's what I say, my kids and I could stay at the pool all day everyone - it's so much fun! However before you can hit the pool you need fabulous swim wear and being nearly nine months pregnant I'm big, round and in need of a swim suit that's comfortable, stylish and modest at the same time. I about flipped a lid when I heard about Aerin Rose and the swim wear they carry!

I received the Shirred Tie Halter one piece suit & Shirred Banded Halter with Brief Bikini's in maternity size to give to the test. Both suits are fabulous and fit well with extra room for my growing belly during the rest of my pregnancy. My favorite is the one piece and I tend to be more of a two piece tankini type of girl. The reason being is that it fully covers you and the neck line isn't really low cut (that's not my thing) yet it still gives you some style. It also has ruched sides that I love ruched sides, they make you look great, the sides are cut up really high and there is a really cute extra tie in the back for more style. This particular suit also as a great built in under wire and accommodates d/dd, which is really hard to find - and you know you're getting top heavy when you're getting ready to meet your new baby. I liked the two piece and wear it as well, however the cut is a bit lower in front. This suit also accommodates a bigger cup size.

Aerin Rose also carries suits non-maternity suits in various styles, cover ups and plus-sized suits that look like they would fit great as well. I look forward to wearing these suits even after baby - they don't give you that boxy maternity tent look, but a slimming cute look. Fabulous for all mommy's!

Peek-A-Boo - Review!

My pregnancy is coming to an end and those essential nursing pieces are soon to be put to good use. The problem is, where do you find those pieces that so many times you really need? Peek-A-Boo has some fantastic pieces that are function able while nursing, are going to give you a sleek cute look, yet many can be worn while you're pregnant.

I've been wearing my adorable cap sleeve, ruched side, gray maternity/nursing shirt a lot these day. The ruched sides give you a great slimming look, and the belly stretches while I'm pregnant but easily forms back to shape so I'll be able to wear it for awhile after I have the baby. The nursing flap is awesome, one of the first nursing shirts that you can't even notice the flap and when you do lift the flap up, there's a cute little duck peeking out at you. This shirt is fantastic. It's easily dressed up or down and the fit is perfect.

I love the custom birth announcements and how it fits you and your family so much - so much better than so many places that you can get announcements - I've never really been all that impressed, I suppose that's why I've never really cared to send them out. This time around, I'm very excited to have something that's just perfect for us. Just look at the mini adoption or birth announcements, I love them. There is so much to love on her site and definitely something for everyone.

I'm always excited to get my hands on batteries - in this household it seems like we go through them entirely too fast. However we've been using our EnviroMAX batteries for over a month now, putting them to the test in some talking animals that use a lot of power because of how much use they get - they're still going strong.
