Family Water Park Fun at Magic Waters

School is almost out and it's time to start thinking about what fun activities you and your family will be doing over break. If you love water parks and getting wet then I encourage you to check out one of the largest water parks in Illinois, Magic Waters water park in Cherry Valley. Every time we go shopping my kids ask when we are going to go and it's been years since my husband and I were there, so we've decided this is the perfect year to take our family.
Magic Waters has fun for everyone - experience the Double Dare Drop at 75ft, speed slides, Tsunami Bay Wave Pool, Typhoon Terror Adventure Ride, Splash Blaster Water Coaster Ride. Check out the dark tunnel of Abyss for twists and turns, or relax on the 1,200 ft. Splash Magic River. Tiki Island has a 1,000 gallon pinapple water bucket that spills all over everyone. My favorite is that you are welcome to bring your own coolers with food or you can grab lunch at a new feature, Ocho's Cantina. Sound like water fun to you?
Magic Waters is located just off I-90 near Rockford. Opens June 8th, 2013 and is open daily from 10am-6pm, Monday & Friday 10am-9pm. When you're a mom, especially if you have little children convenience speaks a lot to you. The option of being able to look put together at an affordable price & being able to dress yourself and your family from head to toe all from the same store can make all the difference in the world if you're limited on time. It does for me anyway! I was never a huge fan of Kohl's until the last few years, mostly being because I didn't give it a fair chance. However, anymore I know I can find apparel for all four of my children, my husband and myself that are trendy, cute and affordable all in one place. I love too that Kohl's offers several different brands, so either mix and match the brands to make the perfect outfit or find your favorite and stick to them!
Above is an outfit I put together available at Kohl's from the summer collection. Three different brands; Elle, Daisy Fuentes & Dana Buchman. Let me tell you about each piece, available in store and online.
The Daisy Fuentes Solid Roll Top in available in two different colors. It's a sheer top, so I would recommend wearing a cami underneath (remember cami's are slimming), a little longer in the back and shorter in the front but flows really nice. The roll tab sleeves give it a casual look but still looks great dressed up.
Cuffed Denim Capri's in white from Elle have become a real staple in my wardrobe. White is so trendy and looks great with so many different colors. It's easy to mix and match, I'm sure you will see these a lot more in upcoming posts. I love that these have just the right amount of stretch and are very comfortable. They also come with a cute silver belt, and a girl can never go wrong with more accessories. These capri's are available in a total of five colors.
Dana Buchman Tara Pleated Hobo is a great handbag for summer. It's light weight faux leather, with a shoulder strap, pockets & magnetic closure. It's just the right size for everyday errands or out with friends and with the red/carmel color is great to pair with most anything.

Undercover Mama Nursing Camisole #Giveaway (Ends 5/31)

I've been a breastfeeding mother for on and off almost 8 years, most on then off. I'm blessed to be able to nurse my children, but since I like to be modest and a nursing cover doesn't always work, I wear a camisole under everything. It keeps my midsection covered and wearing a camisole a lot of times helps smooth and slim your overall appearance.
A few years back I was introduced to Undercover Mama and the strapless camisoles. I loved the concept and wore mine as often as I could. My only problem was that it didn't work with most of my bras because I was of a larger breast size. Since I was a bigger size I have bras that are more supportive and the clasp wouldn't fit onto several of my bras. Undercover Mama however is completely amazing and knew that was a problem for a lot of women, and now offer the clasp & the quick and easy loop. All their tank tops come with both and whichever one you don't want to use, it can easily be tucked behind the other.
If you're unfamiliar, let me explain how the Undercover Mama Works. Whether you use the clasp or loop, you slide it over the top part of your nursing bra cup area, right below where you would connect the cup to the strap of your bra. Then when you want to nurse your baby, you just un-hook your bra and pull down not only the cup part of your bra but the top of the camisole. It's incerdibly easy and and the perfect solution for women who use camisoles regularly. I can't tell you how often I stretch the neck out of my camisoles because I pull them down to nurse, with the Undercover Mama, that never happens. The camisoles are also long and come in a variety of colors and sizes.

Fashionable Children's Shoes from Venettini

We found they may run a smidgin on the big side if you have a more narrow foot. All of the shoes meet children's safety standards. Wummelbox Arts & Crafts Subscription Box

The Wummelbox has a monthly theme.. like music, color, nature and we received the "About the Time Travel Wummebox" (which I'll get to shortly.) In each box is included all the material for 3-4 projects which are made of high quality materials and eco-friendly at that. The projects all promote creativity and support developmental skills, such as language, movement and motor skills, senses, etc. I like too that each box is designed to inspire learning and creativity, thinking and exploring. Like I said we received the Time Travel Wummbelbox that my three and five year old enjoyed. My little ones didn't even understand the traveling back in time and the stone age, so this was a great teaching tool and even fun for my seven year old.
We got to build a time machine, where they painted wood with water colors (that actually worked), put stickers on to decorate and screw on the wheels. We traveled back to the dinosaurs and met up with some woolly mammoths. It was our favorite activity.
They also did painting on fabric to look like cave painting, and we made stamps to make the mammoth, fire and more. Crated the Hunter & Gatherer game where you throw a die and follow animal tracks . It was a lot of fun, and I liked that everything was included so I didn't have to search for most things. My kids enjoyed it & I'd love to check out another months fun!

The Brooklyn Top, is a black and tan striped jersey top that, like it says.. literally will take you from the week to weekend. It's soft and completely versatile. I like that for the horizontal stripes it really gives you a more slimming appearance. It really has the perfect balance of stripes from the mid-section and then the cream on top and ending in the black. I'm wearing it with a black pencil skirt or a night out with my love!

The Moma Tunic is lovely as well, the same look as the Brooklyn Top, but pair it with heels or flats for any occasion. I'm going to get tons of use out of this come back into fall when I shed just a few more pounds. I love the thick black stripe and it's the perfect length and shape for a tunic. A lot of times a tunic is to flouncy and gives you absolutely no shape, but this hugs you right where it needs to and gives you a feminine look while not looking frumpy. Another piece that can be for the casual day wear to weekend fun.

What I Wore Real Mom Style. Happy Mother's Day! (Vol 15) #RealMomStyle
Happy Mother's Day! I'll be spending the day at the hockey court unless we get rained out watching my son and husband play and hubby coach the little ones. Here's what I wore to church this past Sunday.
I love this outfit and both the top and bottoms are from Kohl's. They're fairly new and I'm going to be featuring them later this week in a fashion post for Kohl's. The skinny capri's have fulfilled my need for a pair of skinny white capri's for the summer. They're so soft, have the perfect amount of stretch and aren't overly hot for the warm days! There's nothing not to love about them. As you can see I'm back wearing my too long of bangs in my face. Ha!

The size is the perfect portion and ideal for lunch boxes. My three year old likes them the most and they've been ideal for our long days out and about when I pack food. No mess and easy to manage. I can't wait to use them with the babe when he's old enough, but until then my other kids will enjoy apple sauce in lunch boxes and yogurt or other goodies on the go.

Road Rippers from Toy State

I have boys and my boys love vehicles, especially my three year old. I surely cannot have the only children who rush through oral hygiene - I shouldn't be surprised at this because my kids have a competition with everything - who an get dressed first, buckled, eat & and of course brushing. My kids hate toothpaste & after every single brushing it looks like a toothpaste bomb went off in our bathroom. Not anymore because this can be squeezed directly into the child's mouth. No mess and they love it. It's available in the original characters like the brushes - Barbie, FireFly, Spiderman and Angry Birds - lasts longer than the typical paste (for us anyway) and is flavored in Bubble Gum which both my boys really like.

Adventures with Backyard Safari Outfitters #Giveaway (Ends 5/20)

We absolutely LOVE Backyard Safari Outfitters and have been fans for several years. Between the couple of past reviews, birthday gifts and my kids begging we own just about every product they sell and each has been a huge hit! Enough of a hit that I recommend them over and over again to friends looking for unique gifts that will actually get played with... and I did do an entire Holiday Gift Guide just on some of their products.
When I got asked to give a shout out for these great products recently I decided to take note of exactly which products my kids (mostly my boys, who are nearing eight & four) played with and enjoyed the most. With spring weather here we have been getting outdoors a lot more, so the Backyard Safari products are getting even more play (but believe me they get played with a ton inside as well). Some of the favorites, that are must haves according to my boys for real adventures...
The Cargo Vest, no explorer can be without a vest that can carry everything you could possibly need and can actually have new patches added for each BYO product you purchase.
Oh boy, who doesn't love a Bug Vacuum? I admit, I even like a bug vacuum. It works pretty good too, as long as he bugs aren't huge. We've had plenty and then add them to the Critter Shack for safe keeping. Don't forget the Scoop net for gathering if the vacuum doesn't fit your fancy. There's lot of different bug products on the site.
Don't forget the Binoculars, after all they are essential... how would they ever be able to see out of a high look out, or find those creatures without them? My boys can't! Now that it's nice out again the boys have had the Base Camp Shelter & Camouflage out a lot. It's the perfect shelter/hide-out and has pockets to put all their gadgets in. It's a fairly quick assembly, but I do recommend getting stakes to stake it down if you live anywhere windy.
