Aerin Rose - Review & Giveaway! (CLOSED)

It's that time of the year - it's hot, muggy, humid, sticky and my favorite season of the year. What better way to cool off than swimming right? That's what I say, my kids and I could stay at the pool all day everyone - it's so much fun! However before you can hit the pool you need fabulous swim wear and being nearly nine months pregnant I'm big, round and in need of a swim suit that's comfortable, stylish and modest at the same time. I about flipped a lid when I heard about Aerin Rose and the swim wear they carry!

I received the Shirred Tie Halter one piece suit & Shirred Banded Halter with Brief Bikini's in maternity size to give to the test. Both suits are fabulous and fit well with extra room for my growing belly during the rest of my pregnancy. My favorite is the one piece and I tend to be more of a two piece tankini type of girl. The reason being is that it fully covers you and the neck line isn't really low cut (that's not my thing) yet it still gives you some style. It also has ruched sides that I love ruched sides, they make you look great, the sides are cut up really high and there is a really cute extra tie in the back for more style. This particular suit also as a great built in under wire and accommodates d/dd, which is really hard to find - and you know you're getting top heavy when you're getting ready to meet your new baby. I liked the two piece and wear it as well, however the cut is a bit lower in front. This suit also accommodates a bigger cup size.

Aerin Rose also carries suits non-maternity suits in various styles, cover ups and plus-sized suits that look like they would fit great as well. I look forward to wearing these suits even after baby - they don't give you that boxy maternity tent look, but a slimming cute look. Fabulous for all mommy's!

Peek-A-Boo - Review!

My pregnancy is coming to an end and those essential nursing pieces are soon to be put to good use. The problem is, where do you find those pieces that so many times you really need? Peek-A-Boo has some fantastic pieces that are function able while nursing, are going to give you a sleek cute look, yet many can be worn while you're pregnant.

I've been wearing my adorable cap sleeve, ruched side, gray maternity/nursing shirt a lot these day. The ruched sides give you a great slimming look, and the belly stretches while I'm pregnant but easily forms back to shape so I'll be able to wear it for awhile after I have the baby. The nursing flap is awesome, one of the first nursing shirts that you can't even notice the flap and when you do lift the flap up, there's a cute little duck peeking out at you. This shirt is fantastic. It's easily dressed up or down and the fit is perfect.

I'm always excited to get my hands on batteries - in this household it seems like we go through them entirely too fast. Clorox Redesign Clean Contest Winners!

The-Best-Version-Of-Myself, those words have been echoing in my soul over and over since I read the book Rediscovering Catholicism, by Matthew Kelly. What simple, yet very powerful words to help you really want to transform your life and become closer to God. The more I read, the more I wanted to becoming the best version of myself I could - for God, my spouse, my children, my friends and everyone I come in contact with.

I like many mothers often feel overwhelmed - I have things I have to do and things I really enjoy doing - somethings my prayer life gets set at the back of the list, but after reading Rediscovering Catholicism I really want to make an effort to try harder. Matthew Kelly doesn't make you feel bad, he shows you why striving and doing so many things really does bring out the best in you and others. From talking about Mother Teresa, John Vianney, Francis Assisi and more there is no-doubt you will want to change your life. When I first picked up the book and read the first few pages, I had tears in my eyes. I immediately got up and handed the book to my husband, telling him he had to read the beginning - a few minutes later my husbands voice was choked up and had watery eyes. Does that not make you want to try a book?

"Holiness is becoming the best-version-of-yourself" and that's what I am striving for. Get answers to simple questions everyone has - "Does your life lack meaning? What does God want? What are your habits? Why are so many people experiencing Depression today?" You will find those answers in Rediscovering Catholicism. This is a wonderfully easy book to read through and easily done while children are hanging all over you. Pick it up, this is a MUST read in my opinion.

Lighthouse Catholic Media also sent me two wonderful CD's to listen to - on The Shroud of Turin and Untold Stories of the Last Three Popes, both excellent educational CD's to listen to while in the car or doing those dishes that are awaiting you in the sink. I cannot believe how little I know.

Layla Grayce - Review & Giveaway! (CLOSED)

Layla Grayce has just added some lovely Serena and Lily products to their website and they are definitely worth oohing and aahhing over as well as many other products from the site.

I was extremely excited to try out the Serena and Lily Gypsy Tote - it's extremely fashionable and can be used as a diaper bag or a really cute tote bag for all those items that we all need! I really like that it has several pockets in side, a big strap that's adjustable so you can carry it easily and hang it over things, but still can be scrunched up and smashed into areas if you need to really pack tightly. The beautiful flax linen is lovely with leather and hand embroidery. Also this is machine washable which is a must in this house! What I didn't really love about this bag is that it has a button/disk closure so if you do pack it really full things easily fall out, you also have to add the diaper changing pad if your little one is still in diapers.

You are going to look fabulous carrying this stunning tote around - not like you have a big diaper bag, but a fashionable bag that's carrying all your baby/toddler essentials. Jacquard Tie Dye Kit - Review & Giveaway! (CLOSED)

One of my favorite things about day camp as a child was making tie dye shirts! So I was more than happy to try out Jacquard Product's Funky Groovy Tie Dye Kit with my daughter!

The Funky Groovy Tie Dye Kit includes all your supplies and makes tie dying fun and easy. This kit is geared towards ages 5 and up so there was a little bit of extra prep work and A LOT of supervision for my 3 year old daughter. Depending on age and skill levels, you can go beyond simple swirl designs and create some really unique and interesting wearable art! There are instructions on making any type of pattern you'd like. For my 3 year old, we stuck to the basics and produced great results!

The Funky Groovy Tie Dye Kit made it as easy as wetting the shirt and tying it with rubber bands, soaking it in soda ash and mixing tap water into the pre-measured dyes already in their squirt own bottles and applying the dye to the shirts. We waited 24 hours, rinsed the dye out and ran the shirts through a warm wash and dry to set the colors. Now we can even wash our tie dye shirts in with our other laundry without worrying about the colors running.

While my shirts of summers past faded very quickly, Jacquard Product's high quality, professional dyes stay bright. My daughter not only loved making her shirts but she is also loving telling everyone all about it as we are asked about them every time we wear them out.

In my opinion, the only thing Jacquard Products could do to improve the Funky Groovy Tie Dye Kit would be to include extra rubber gloves or at least recommend you pick up an extra pair on your own before beginning. The instructions have you rinsing and reusing gloves as it is but when more than one person is dying, extra gloves really are a must. Especially with younger children when an adult needs to be hands-on at the same time as the child is working with the dyes.

Bra Barrette - Review & Giveaway! (CLOSED)

You've seen them, those commercials that let you know you can hide your bra straps with ease and comfort. I'll admit, I get sucked into them. I'm not a fan of bra straps sticking out of clothing - to me you just don't look as crisp and kept when they're hanging out. However, it's hard to keep those straps hidden, especially in certain shirts. Let me introduce you to the Bra Barrette.

The Bra Barrette is easier to use then the Only Seen on TV Bra Strap hider I have because it's a bit bigger and easy to slip your straps through. These also come in different colors and aren't just made to keep your bra straps in place. You can also use them for tanks to pull the straps together to make a fashion statement, there is even jewelry to add to them. Though that's not really my thing, I have a family member who think it's fabulous and looks great.

I did have a bit of a problem and can't wear my Bra Barrette with nearly all my bras because I'm big busted and my bras don't exactly have little slim straps. Maybe before children, but not now - I need something with more support and because of this is just twists the barrette. This does not happen with smaller busts that do not require as much support - it actually works great!

There are many different Bra Barrettes to choose from along with the jewelry, all to suit what you're looking for. Also different colors depending on what outfit you're wearing.

Many of my readers know that my family suffer from mild eczema and my daughter's significantly worse. It seems like most people I know suffer from some sort of eczema and are always looking for more natural alternatives that work to help take care of their skin.
