Getting Ready To Return!

I'm preparing to get back into reviews and things. Baby Brennan is doing well here and growing already. It's been a week now since he was born and our family is adjusting. My husband headed back to work today and starts back at his graduate classes Thursday night. A bit overwhelming but we're making our way. The kids love their new baby brother - I typically do not post pictures of my children - but here the three of them are!

I have many reviews and giveaways starting back up on September 2nd. Please be patient with me if they aren't posted right away on Monday, Wednesdays and Fridays. I will be doing my best to stay on top of things while still taking care of my family. =)

Woman Review Loves!

I've reviewed for quite a few different woman related sites and here are a few that I really love the products they have to offer. I think it's important to make yourself feel and look good too. Sometimes as mothers we get caught up in making sure our children look good but don't care about our hair, or what we're putting on. If I wake up and fix my hair, put a bit of make up on and put something comfortable yet cute on (even if it is just around the house) I always feel better. Take care of yourself, your children learn from your example!

Handbag Heaven - we all love a fabulous handbag, it makes you feel so cute and stylish. It does me anyway - I'm loving the one I'm carrying right now and I have never received so many compliments on this bag. Orange must be my thing! Ha ha! Sunglass Warehouse - I really love a stylish pair of sunglasses but I'm finding that I don't want to spend a ton on them. I love what Sun glass warehouse has and not just for me but my hubby as well. I can find whatever style I'm going for at a good price.

Layers Clothing - I cannot get enough of what Layers has to offer. I've reviewed for them several times, purchased several times, recommended tons and tons of times. Modest, stylish and chic. Did you know too that if you check out Layers Blog they give something away every Friday? Awesome! Check out all my reviews from Layers by searching my site for them.

ModBe - I have a hard time finding swim suits that I think are appropriate when I'm a normal size, yet stylish for a mom and as a woman. I love the swim suit I have from ModBe and look forward to getting back to my pre-pregnancy size to wear it again. The fit is fantastic, not only in the top by the bottoms as well.

Baby Has Arrived!

Welcome Brennan Andrew! Born Wednesday, August 19th, 2009 at 3:22am. Weight 8lb. 4oz; 20 inches long. He was a beautiful waterbirth at home and everyone is doing well. Hope to be back into the swing of things by September 2nd. This little guy teased us for two weeks thinking his appearance would be any day, only to come 11 days late. I hope to add better pictures soon - he was only a few hours old here!

Baby Carrier and Mommy Musts Reviews!

I love baby-wearing and with baby #3 it's even more important to have a baby carrier that's going to make you feel comfortable and baby. How else are you going to get anything else done? I'm also a very attached parent, love to be close to my children and there are a few other products that work fantastic for mommy's!

Simply Breastfeeding DVD - I'm an extended breastfeeding mother and have heard the misconceptions far to many times when it comes to breastfeeding. I love the bond and the nutrition my children receive and this is an absolute must watch.

Chicks-n-Chickens DVD/CD - I have yet to do the workout that's on the DVD for after pregnancy, common I just had a baby. However my daughter is still listening to this close to daily for nap times, she loves the songs and the rhythm to fall asleep. I can't wait to get back in shape with my new little one close to me.

Sleepy Wrap - This was the first type of baby carrier that really got me hooked. The Sleepy Wrap stretches for whatever size you are, the colors are a great choice and it's easy for nursing and getting around. I love the wraps and this is an excellent version that's affordable.

Layla Grayce OiOi Diaper Bag - I've had several, but this one looks the same as it did the day I got it. It's not the biggest, but it fits what we need if we're going to be gone, hold my cloth diapers and some clothing. Has a diaper changing pad that really folds up and pockets for other things. I try to switch and always come back to this bag.

MomSpit - Alright, so I'm not one to be embarrassed to put a little of my own spit on my children's face in public. However this momspit has been lasting us for months and month, it works great and my husband and I even use it. I love to have it handy for quick clean ups if we're eating on the run, or if my kids are finished before we are and touching everything in the restaurant booth - before we hit the bathroom to clean up, it's awesome.

***It has been brought to my attention that the products from Cuddling Baby may not be as they are said to be. Along with other issues regarding customer service. I have never had a problem with my carrier. If you have further questions I am happy to discuss with you via email***
Cuddling Babies Mei Tai - This was another one of my first carriers and one that I grab for on the go all the time. Cuddling Baby isn't expensive at all, the quality is fantastic, it fits great and it fits my children great. Probably the one I would pick if I couldn't have any of the others.

BabySnazz, Beco Baby Carrier - I really like this carrier now that my child is bigger. It's adjustable and has a great fit for my husband and I while giving a lot of good back support while carrying a bigger child.

I love making my home look and smell fresh and there has been several products that I love. Some that I still make regular purchases of. Check out some of these home related products that have been great in this family.

Candles By Victoria - Not a day goes by I do not have some scent burning in my home. Candles By Victoria is by far my most favorite place to purchase candles. I was just over at my parents home and commented on the amazing smell of one of the candles - little did I remember I had purchased it for my mom. Ooohhh, I love these candles.

Lighthouse Catholic Media - Books take a lot of room in our home. I'm picky about what's on our shelves for my children and my husband and I. Talk about a great site that carries products to help really bring you closer to Christ. This review has helped me become closer to Christ in so many ways.

WordCandy - I have the most beautiful Welcome sign on my door - of course made out of vinyl but it looks so cute. I love the products WordCandy sells, they are so home like and exactly what I love, smaller and at a very affordable price.

Finish Quantum Dishwasher Detergent - I have a love hate relationship with my dishwasher. Maybe we need a new one, maybe I don't rinse dishes, maybe I just want to take a hammer to it most of the days. However this dishwasher detergent is fantastic and even though more expensive than a lot of detergents I will never switch. It does it's job and that makes me happy.

Scribble It - Another vinyl site. All of these have different, yet fantastic products. I find something I love for different rooms on each site.

Dali Wall Decals - I'm a wall decal lover for life. These make a room pop and mine are still as fresh and beautiful as the day I put them up.

Boon - The Frog Pod and the Flo are products you really cannot go without if you have children. I love them both - my tub is always free of clutter and my kids are happy to rinse those suds away.

The Spotted Box- Reviewing what the Spotted Box has to offer was incredibly fun. So many neat, more natural products to add around the home.

Meet My Sister Sara!

Welcome my sister Sara to Momma In Flip Flops2!! Sara will be doing reviews here and there. I'm excited to add a family member to the site. Sara has reviewed once already and has future reviews coming in September. Get to know her more. . .

My name is Sara, and I have just been pulled into the blogging/review world by my big sister Andrea, well maybe not bigger (she's a shortie) but older, hehe. I'm 24 years old and have been married to my wonderful Jake for about 6 months. Things are moving fast in our life, which is how we like it, and we now have our first baby on the way and cannot wait until December! We don't know if we are having a boy or a girl but we are quickly learning from Andrea (mommainflipflops of 3 now) all about cloth diapers, slings and the best strollers. I currently work as a child and family therapist but am looking forward to when our baby is born and I become a full time momma. I inherited another member of our family through marriage, my husband's English bulldog, Sophie. I try and tell myself that God is getting me ready for babies by getting used to cleaning up her hair and love drops that she leaves around the house...I still need a lot of patience in that area, but am looking forward to working with everyone by helping out Andrea with her review blog.

Children Related Reviews!

My children are such a huge part of my life and everything I do. Most reviews that I do involve them. Some of the products that have been hits for my children, I loved for them, etc.

My Swim Baby - the lovely iPlay Tankini Swim Diaper my daughter has been using this summer. I told my husband that I will always have my children in something like this. Contains the messes, modest and looks fantastic.

Childish - My son absolutely loves this t-shirt and I love the vintage, adorable look. I've been working with Childish for awhile and all the products I've ever received from them for review has been excellent. View them all here and more to come.

Piggy Paint - My daughter is such a little girlie girl and painting her toes and fingers is just another thing she loves to have done. It makes me feel good to put non-toxic things on my little girl, especially with her sensitive skin. Moms, the remover is amazing too - no stink.

Flowers In Her Hair - We all pretty much know I have an obsession almost with my daughter having matching hair accessories for what she wears, it's just so darn cute. I love what Flowers In Her Hair has to offer.

Little Piddles - These hair accessories are fabulous as well and we're loving them. I've done several other hair accessory reviews as well, but I don't want to add them until we've been using them for awhile longer. You can view more by searching my site.

BabyLegs - All I can say is this is a MUST HAVE - I own several pairs and it makes me shiver when I see a baby without these in the winter. They work, look and I can't even say just how great they are.

Neat Solutions - I like reusable things a lot, however these table toppers are something we don't leave the house without. I purchase them as soon as I run out and my daughter always uses one when out at a public restuarant.

Trendy Tadpole - My favorite place for unique, hip children t-shirts. My son has several and they look great, hold up, and fit amazing. Aforable prices as well.

See Kai Run - These shoes are one of my favorites, the fit and look is absolutely adorable. Especially when the child is small and you need something flexible.

Pedipeds - Another fantastic brand that I'm more than happy to have my children wear.

Favorite Cloth Diaper Reviews!

Almost a year ago I did a Cloth Diapering review month. I can't believe it was that long ago! Taking some time off while awaiting the arrival of our newest - here are some of my favorite diapers from those reviews, that are still working for us!

Knickernappies 2G pocket Diaper. I love everything about this diaper and it's still going strong!

Drybees AIO Hybrid Diaper - It's looking a bit warn around the Velcro, but it hold leaks great with or without an extra soaker. It fits great and even though I really didn't know how much I was going to like this diaper after a long period of time, it's a good one.

Sewing Mom Just Accessories Etc. is my place for a wetbag. I have a few and this is by far my favorite. Great quality and a great selection at a good price. I love my large wetbag for soiled diapers and cannot imagine using anything else.

Thirsties Fab Fitted and Thirsties Cover. I love both of these, the elastic is very worn out in the cover, but I hear that the new covers are made so they don't wear out.

Bum Genius 3.0 One Sized Cloth Diaper - This diaper holds leaks and fits great. The laundry tabs and Velcro are getting worn but I'd be happy to stash my collection with these, especially if they were snaps instead of Velcro.

Prestons Pants One-Sized Solid PUL Pocket Cloth Diaper. This diaper looks the same as it did the first day I got it and it's used all the time. Elastic is excellent, no fading, no snaps falling off, fit is great, no leaks. Excellent diaper!

I have done several other cloth diaper reviews and didn't add some of them in here because I haven't used them for an extended period of time. Favorite Maternity & Nursing Reviews!

This past pregnancy was my first while writing reviews and I was very happy to find a lot of great products. I hope to bring you more Nursing related reviews when I return.

Ingrid & Isabel - love the ruched tank and cami. Fit is great, supportive and very flattering!

Peek-A-Boo - Maternity and Nursing shirt in one. I love the fit and how easy it will be to nurse baby! A bit expensive though.

Simply Breastfeeding DVD - A must watch in my opinion for all parents. This is an EXCEPTIONAL DVD!

MomZee Maternity Jeans. Really the only pair of jeans that I like that are maternity. Fit and look just like your regular chic jeans!

Amon Maternity. Behold Band - couldn't have made it throughout this pregnancy without this supportive band. Excellent product.

eMommie - It's not always possible to spend a fortune on maternity or nursing clothing and a lot of places that's what is required of you. eMommie is excellent for chic maternity and nursing used apparel at a good price but still look great.

[Bump] - I really like this shirt. It's cute and fits good!

Maternitique - I had very bad acne the beginning and middle of my pregnancy. On my face and back, the products I received cleared it up and I'm still loving them today. Safe and effective for the pregnant mommy.

BumpStyle. This shirt really is a one-sized shirt. It fit my through my entire pregnancy and looked good throughout the entire pregnancy. I had more compliments about how flattering it was then any other shirt. Love it!

Boob Maternity- Excellent maternity clothes, very chic and comfortable.

Baby Burrito - Review & Giveaway (CLOSED)

One of my favorite blankets I'm really looking forward to wrapping our little love in is the brown bonsai tree organic baby blanket from Baby Burrito. This blanket is super soft and adorable for a boy or girl. This blanket has so many features that really make me excited to use it. Shabby Apple - Review

I really believe it's important to make yourself look good so you feel good, whether your pregnant or not. Not that you have to splurge on everything you own, but at least own something that when you're going out, just to church, etc you are going to feel really fabulous. I received the fabulous Bow Baby Maternity Dress from Shabby Apple and let me tell you, you put this on and you feel fantastic. I was finding myself wearing a lot of the same things and feeling really frumpy - my husband told me he knew I'd start feeling better if I grabbed a skirt or dress from my closet. I put up on my beautiful Bow Baby Dress in black and I felt stunning. This dress is comfortable and looks great (unlike some dresses designed for maternity), is super comfortable and can be dressed up and down with so many different looks. I absolutely love the collar and the bow that can be tied in back or front in my opinion. This dress fits generously and comes in three colors. I look forward to wearing this after baby as well - however it will be difficult with nursing.
