Thirsites - Pre-wash & Super wash {Giveaway Has Ended}

I've been using cloth diapers for over two years now and in all honesty I have been doing the same laundry routine and I've never had a laundering issue. With that being said I was a bit reluctant when I was asked to review Thristies Pre-wash and Super wash. I didn't want to start having any issues because I started using something else, however I've had such great luck with Thirsties products I decided to give them a try. I've been using the washes for quite sometime now and haven't had one problem, the diapers look whiter than normal and smell fresh and clean every time. I haven't had any notice of build up and I like that the bottle measures everything out for me, so I'm not guessing that I'm using the correct amount. I first use the pre-wash on a cold rinse cycle, this helps lift stains, remove poo and eliminates bacteria. After I run that through I use the Super wash on a hot cycle. Works like a charm and with it being concentrated a little bit really does go a long way. I have been very happy with this detergent and though I don't like to change my laundry patterns often - this is definitely a great route to go with laundering your diapers! What's also nice about this detergent, you don't have to just use it on your cloth diapers. It's known to lift stains and whiten your everyday apparel.

Just because I'm a stay at home mom and a breastfeeding mother at that, I still love fashion and looking great. It makes me feel good to look nice and put together.

Recently I had the opportunity to review for Milk Nursingwear, they have chic apparel that makes nursing in public a breeze. I received the Shirred scoop-neck, raspberry nursing top in the soft organic cotton. The top has a built in undershirt underneath, so easily pull the top layer of material up and you have openings for easy access for nursing. I don't use nursing covers that much, my son won't nurse well so this is a perfect option for us. Discreet, fashionable and easy to care for. What else I like is that you can't even tell it's a nursing top. It's fits nice and gives you a feminine look with the scoop neck (but not too scoop as to how too much) and a little poof in the sleeves.

Be Good to People - Day 2 {Giveaway Has Ended}

For those of you who participated in yesterdays challenge, did you accomplish what you were going to do to be good to others? Help Haiti through Happy Heiny's

We have been very saddened to hear that due to the recent earthquakes in Haiti in the Port Au Prince area, a couple of the orphanages we have worked closely with over the last fews years have been completely devastated. Through the years we have not only sent them diapers and clothing for these babies but also toys and help with food. When we work with any orphanage in any third world nation we work closely with missionaries who actually travel to the orphanages and personally bring our donations to the babies in need. We opt to work this way because sadly we have found that when attempting to donate directly the goods do not always arrive to the proper place due to the civil unrest of many of these countries. With this recent devastating series of earthquakes there is already a lot of donations and requests for donations out there. Many are requesting items to be given to the Red Cross which is a wonderful organization and will truly help many people. Unfortunately those many orphanages are on the outskirts of town and therefore tend to receive less if any help. These orphanages are now in dire need of new/good condition used reusable diapers. By us providing them with reusable diapers we are ensuring that a baby who has just learned to sit in not placed on a toileting pot for 10-12 hours per day in order to prevent messes. We are also going to take donations of new or good condition used baby clothing and small items. Most often these items we donate are actually brought over in suitcases so we need items that will fit in suitcases. Again, there is a lot of wonderful support that is heading out that way, people bringing food, water, medicines, and clothing but this is all going to the main population. We need to get diapers and clothing to the orphanages as quickly as possible. Finding and talking cloth diapers and accessories is always so much fun. I love finding new sites and meeting the owners behind them. They all carry something that the others don't and everyone has different experiences and opinions. I was able to review the Happy Heiny's One Size Pocket Diaper with snaps, in the absolutely adorable silly monkey print from the Cotton Tails site. I was very surprised when I received this diaper and started using it, for a one size diaper it's actually very large. My son is 5 months and 20 pounds and the rise is on the second fitting with the snaps nearly touching (like shown in the photo's) when on. I know many people that many diapers actually are more of a small diaper, where this diaper will most definitely fit him as he grows bigger and chunkier. I, however am not sure how well it would fit a newborn even though it is a one-sized diaper. The open pocket for stuffing inserts is widely open and the diaper can easily be stuffed for more absorbency depending on what your child needs at the time. The diaper comes in lots of cute prints and colors. Also if you aren't a fan of snaps, you can purchase in Velcro as well. So far we are having great success with the diapers, the fit is very well for him and no leaks make for one happy mommy!

I love baby wearing, but after my youngest was just over a month old he had enough of the wraps and the slings. I didn't know what to do - a couple months went by and still he wouldn't tolerate them. Then I had the chance to review the Belle Baby Carrier, the material that fit in between his legs wasn't as wide and he could easily face towards or away and be comfortable. He loves being able to look out and see what's going on, he's like this even when not in the carrier. This was a great solution for grocery shopping and just getting things done around the home. Overall the carrier is light weight, easy to use and my son loves it. I like that at his age I can have just the carrier without a bunch of extra attachments, he can face out and I can get it on quick and fast while out and about. However after extended wear at one time my shoulder muscles get a bit sore because of were the straps lay on my muscles. I have found that if they are crossed and not too loose it helps, my son is 20 pounds so he's a heavy 5 month old. You can view the design and features of the carrier on the website.
