Splits for a Cause

Kelly Ripa and Electrolux are joining forces once again to celebrate the launch of Electrolux Appliance's new stand-alone refrigerator and freezer - that's right, the familiar duo has split up. And to sweeten the celebration, they're bringing in the "Emperor of Ice Cream" Stephen Bruce, owner and founder of Serendipity 3, the landmark New York City restaurant and dessert spot, into the mix.

Starting today, at www.Kelly-Confidential.com, you can build your ultimate banana split using virtual ingredients from classic whipped cream to caramel sauce to rainbow sprinkles. For each "split", Electrolux will donate $1 to the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund as part of its $750,000 commitment to help fight ovarian cancer.
As usual, Electrolux and Kelly find new and fun ways to say thank you to those who support this great cause. Everyone who logs on to the site and builds a split will be automatically entered for a chance to win the daily prize - $50 towards sweet summer treats - and the grand prize: the new stand-alone refrigerator and freezer from Electrolux.

I encourage you to visit for a fabulous chance to win and help support a great cause. Good luck!

Friday Night Lights Vol. 2 - {Giveaway Has Ended}

To be honest I've only seen previews for the show Friday Night Lights, it doesn't look all that bad though. Maybe I should give it a try, have you? It shows on NBC on Friday nights at 8/7c. I had the chance to check out the Friday Night Lights Vol. 2 TV soundtrack with some bands like White Rabbits, Band of Skulls and Avett Brothers. Definitely an occasional listen in the car or around home when I want to mix it up a bit. I'm not always up on the new break out bands, so it was cool to be able to listen to some of them and it was actually something my husband and I could listen to at the same time. We tend to have battle of the radio when we're riding together. You can read more about this 12 track CD on the website.

T.J Maxx = Impressive

This past weekend my hubby took me on a fun shopping trip. I can't turn down a shopping trip, even though I had tons to do. We finally had a chance to visit a new T.J Maxx that I have never been to before. Let's just say if you don't want to come home with the entire store in your cart, then don't bring the hubby. Ha ha! He was finding deals left and right, attempting to fill the cart with every deal he saw in site from toys for the kids, apparel for himself, items that would be fantastic for his 'man cave', and more. Then you have myself on the other side of the store filling up my cart with shoes, home decor and designer apparel at these fantastic discounted prices. I was really surprised at all the name brand products at a great price. Seriously if you're looking for name brand products and want to get them at a good discounted price then you should check out the T.J. Maxx stores. I recommend taking your time, go when you're in a shopping mood (and when isn't that for most of us?) to take your time and browse things. I was specifically excited about this huge rustic cross I found for my living room. It looks great and normally I would have had to pay a small fortune for it. Also an entire bamboo section.. I love bamboo and was excited to get a large cutting board for my kitchen!

Have you shopped T.J.Maxx? What is something you found that you were excited about? Once my bathroom gets finished I saw all sorts of bathroom decor I'm definitely going to go back for.

CSN Stores Have It All

As you may have read in the past I'm becoming quite the fan of the CSN stores, there is always something from the 200+ stores and millions of products to choose from. Recently I've been browsing the dining room tables, after searching the stores I've found that you can get a better deal by shopping online at CSN stores. Now, which one to choose from? That's not just the case for dining room tables either. We've been doing a lot of remodeling in our home in the past few months and these sites have saved us money. There is also free shipping on a lot of the products which really saves a ton. What's on your wish list? I'd love to have this kitchen aid mixer in my home.

(Be on the lookout for future reviews from CSN stores.)

Pediped - Memory Foam Technolgy & Dryz Technology

Pedipeds are one of my favorite brands when it comes to shoes for my daughter. They fit her great and I know we're always getting quality product. Pediped has two new features that I want to let you know about.

First the Memory Foam Technology (MFT) which is great for those of you who are concerned about your child's feet development. The insoles actually mold to your child's feet and springs back when pressed to absorb shock and minimize impact. These are excellent for the parent looking for style while still being extremely comfortable. Have excellent support and distribute weight. I can actually say I wish I had a pair just like my daughters.

Second the Dryz Technology which is machine washable. Can this not be a parents dream come true when it comes to shoes? I don't know about anyone else but my children have finally gotten to the age where their shoes aren't always looking clean when they come in. They're jumping in the mud, running in the dirt, sand is flying and they are dirty from top to bottom. With the new Dryz Technology I'm able to take the shoes, toss them in the washer and they're clean. The Dryz Technology also features the wicking insoles to help those sweaty feet stay dry as well helping prevent stinky feet.

(I was not compensated other than free product and entered for the chance to win a pair of pedipeds for this post. All opinions are my own and my vary from others. )

Evgie Etsy- {Giveaway Has Ended}

Many of my readers know I love finding and being able to share Etsy shops with you. I was excited to review from the etsy shop Evgie, products that are right up my ally. I love their concept - "helping kids and their parent to really enjoy the learning process, develop and master motor skills, math, literacy and entice exiting conversation between parent and child." I agree with this more than people know, I want products that we can enjoy using and playing with that will help my children develop learning skills while playing and enjoying themselves. We received our last name in the stuffed eco-friendly, 100% felt letters with decorative embroidery to play and learn with. My kids enjoy spelling and learning our last name as well as other words and I like to have things that are educational, yet fun that I know are safe to play with in my home. They are holding up great, are well made and cute. Evgie has some great products I would like to bring into our household, like the wall felt clock or maybe the wall art. The products look fantastic!

The Adventures of Daniel Boom aka Loud Boy - {Giveaway Has Ended}

We're big readers in my household and I definitely hope to keep my kids interested in books throughout their life. I love when I go to the library and they're having fun contests to keep children reading and enjoying throughout the summer when they're out of school. We had the chance to read one of The Adventures of Daniel Boom.. aka Loud Boy books written by D.J. Steinberg from the series and though my son is just about five and can't read it himself it's one of his favorites. He likes that it's an adventure with superhero's and just like a comic book. My husband and I take turns reading it to him, bringing the characters to life and someday hope to add the rest of the collection to our home library. If you have a middle grade child who loves something with adventure that they can relate to some of the characters that turn their qualities like being loud, throwing tantrums, chatterbox and more into their superhero ability then this just might be a book they won't be able to put down. Purchase from the Steinberg website or amazon.com. Win! One lucky reader will win the four book series with a backpack full of goodies. To enter -

Canker Cover - Heal that Sore Sooner

I don't know what the deal is with my husband and my daughter for that fact but if they get a canker sore or bite their lip anything in their mouth it turns into a nasty sore that takes forever to heal. The rest of us have no problem with this, but it's awful and I feel horrible for them. I've read that these effect 56 million people annually, thankfully I'm not one of them. Luckily we received the Canker Cover, a natural canker sore treatment to help heal in 24 hours. Thankfully for my husband he has yet to have a sore for us to try this product out, but I'm glad to have it on hand for when he does because I'll be the first to hand it over to him to put it to use. A little more about this over-the-counter canker sore treatment. It's made from natural ingredients including menthol, citrus oil and sea salt, which dissolves over time offering immediate pain relief upon application, while covering and protecting from other irritants for eight to twelve hours. This would be great for my husband because he can't even talk when he gets his it hurts so bad. You can purchase the Canker Cover at supermarkets, drugstores and health food stores nationwide and online at www.cankercover.com. Check out the video below to find out even more how it works. I'd love to know if you've tried this product and how well it works?

Feel good and look fabulous! That's how I felt after I used the Organic Sugar Scrub from Touch'd on my not so fabulous feet. Though I'm not a regular user of sugar scrubs I can definitely tell you I will be using them far more often now. What I loved about this product is that it really scrubed off the dead skin that was not attractive at all on my toes and left my feet feeling clean and soft, but better fabulous looking and smelling. I actually called one of my sisters immediately after using and told her how great my feet looked and that we needed to hit the pool (ha ha) and I made my husband feel how smooth and nice they looked. They both were quite amazed. The Organic Sugar Scrub from Touch'd is made from real sugar so there is no stinging like a salt scrub. Just place a washcloth down because the oil can make things slippery and scrub and rinse. I honestly wish I would have done a before and after picture.. I use this product a couple of times a week to keep my feet looking and feeling great. Touch'd also carries other products that look great.

EcoAquarium African Dwarf Frogs - {Giveaway Has Ended}

I really like animals and I would love for my children to someday have a cat, dog or the like but right now that does not work for our family. However what's fun, easy to care for and gives my kids a sense of responsibility with feeding, etc? How about some African Dwarf Frogs from Wild Creations. My family received two African Dwarf Frogs and the EcoAquarium, a self-contained aquatic ecosystem starter kit to enjoy in our home. The little frogs contained in their aquarium that is nearly full of water, with a neat jewel looking rock, bamboo stock and rocks comes with a lid and two holes for dropping food into. No need to remove the lid but to change the water only four times a year. They are super easy to take care of (you only have to feed them twice a week), take up minimal space and my children have lots of fun watching, observing and caring for Chic and Rocko (our frogs names).

If you're on the lookout for a pet that requires minimal work, but will satisfy your child's itch then these little guys are perfect. All you have to do is be prepared with some natural spring water for they're quick arrival. Order the Jewel Starter Kit ($39) and use coupon code BLOGGER and take $10 off. Expires July 31, 2010.

Backyard Safari Outfitters

With summer pretty much here, there is no doubt that my children have been spending the majority of their time outdoors. Unfortunately for me that means most of the outdoor fun/toys has been seen and the thrill of not playing out there all winter has already subsided. My children need something exciting that they can't get bored with - a new adventure every time they play with it... and that's exactly what we got when we received the fun cargo vest, bug vacuum and the mega view periscope from Backyard Safari Outfitters to explore and have an adventure with everyday. My son absolutely loves the bug vacuum, it works great at sucking up medium and large bugs and let me tell you - I didn't even realize some of these bugs existed - he's been finding everything and anything. I like that he can vacuum them up without touching them and view them with the built in magnifier - he loves using the high, medium or low suction to catch all sorts of things. Everyday since we've had this product he gets his gear on and is ready to head out it's brought a whole new light to our backyard. I have to add that daddy has been having a lot of fun with this product as well - must be something about a vacuum that catches creatures that doesn't require actually touching them! Let your adventures begin with Backyard Safari Outfitters as they have many products to choose from or gradually had to the collection to have tons of gear. These products are available on their website as well as Toys R' Us, Wal-Mart, Barnes and Noble, Amazon.com and Target. Check out Backyard Safari Outfitters on Facebook and Twitter.

Naturalizer Shoes

Call me stereotypical but I really do love shoes. I fabulous pair of shoes really can brighten my day! The thing is with shoes is that though I'm all about dealing with the pain of a great pair of shoes it really isn't all that practical anymore. I'm pretty much always carrying a child and the need to move comfortably is pretty important anymore. Not that long ago I came to hear about the company Naturalizer, shoes that have style yet they're actually comfortable. I have a couple pairs of these shoes and though I needed to give them a few wears to fully break them in they have been very comfortable since. My absolute favorites are the Naturalizer Gold Leather Capri shoe, flat though has a 1 inch little heel and is non-slip (great for running with the kids), features a smooth lining and the N5 comfort elements, very feminine and chic. I have really gotten into the gold shoe, you can wear for a casual everyday look, but still wear them to really dress up an outfit. A pair of shoes that look great with so many things and can be used for several different events, while still feeling comfortable and function with small children. Naturalizer carries many heals for those of you who hate the dreaded feel of the typical healed shoe as well as fitness, dress, casual and more. Brighten your day with a new pair of shoes!
