Fit & Fabulous #3

I had a not so great week when it comes to staying fit. With Easter being last Sunday I was finally able to eat sweets again after giving them up for the Lenten season and my self control was very week with all the Easter candy we brought home. I ate all the Snickers out of it so I think I'm good for awhile now! I didn't eat so great, but I did consume most of my water which was good. On a more positive note. . . I did run two times.. once 20 minutes and the other 25 minutes and and was able to run two miles. I felt good about that and I'm into week 7 of the Cto5K. I tried to run another day but a storm was on top of me all of a sudden and I retreated to my house after ten minutes. I got one Chris Freytag workout in and went for a long walk with a friend so I guess I did pretty good - just not as well as I have been doing in the past! I really want to get back to at least five days a week working out and hopefully that can happen with this up coming week.. it's just been really, really busy here!

My mood when it comes to exercise this week.

I'm also excited because now three of my sisters are doing the Cto5K plan as well as one of my sisters boyfriend and they're hoping to join my husband and I (as well as another friend of mine for sure) in all of our first 5k in July. I'm excited to have motivated them to want to try running and to have Team Fit & Fabulous running this summer. My husband has also been running a lot, he's pretty fit anyway (he plays roller hockey) but I love to do something with my husband!

My true highlight is that I registered for my first race which will be next Saturday. It's only a 3K but you have to start somewhere right? Totally excited about that!! Hopefully I can get a few more runs in this week for training purposes so I'm set when it comes Saturday afternoon.

How did you all do? Do any of you run with your kids in strollers? I'm finding it a lot more challenging when I take them (either in the double or in a single).

Spring Fashion Event: be Present Peace Dove Kona Pants

I've been working very hard at taking more care of my body when it comes to fitness and healthy eating habits. When you're keeping active and working out nearly every day you need apparel that's comfortable. I am super excited about today... my sister and I are hitting one of our favorite towns for town wide sales! We have such a blast, even if we do have all four kids in tow we enjoy every bit of it. I'm a huge fan of educational toys, I want them in my home and I want my kids to enjoy playing with them. I found it fairly easy finding these types of toys when my children were younger but now that my oldest is five it's becoming much harder to find toys for 5 year old boy that he's actually interested in. He wants the video games and though I'm okay with that occasionally I want to be able to find other toys for 5 year olds that my son is going to really enjoy. I've been a fan of eBeanstalk for quite sometime and I'm always happy when I visit the site because I know the products I'm going to find are thoughtfully selected by experts. While searching for toys for my son I came across some really great products that I think he would really enjoy and I would be happy to let him play with all the time. Choosing a Bunk Bed!

I grew up in a large family and as our family grows our house doesn't seem to be doing the same thing. Finding practical ways to save on space and have a family that bunks up when it comes to the room department we're looking more and more into the bunk bed world. Everyone has their own opinion on what's best and why for their family and I appreciate all of that but we have to find what works best for us. We actually purchased bunk beds awhile ago when my son and daughter both needed more than just a toddler bed, we went the cheaper route and though the are still holding up, they come apart very easily and when it does come time to pair them on top of each other I don't know if we will. Now that I am actually looking more into bunk beds I have more of an idea of what I would like when we purchase our next bunk bed set (within the next couple of years). I personally would love something that has more than just two beds stacked on top of each other, mostly because we need the space, especially once our children start school. Lots of storage is a must, whether it's up the side, under neath, etc. I also want a bunk bed that's safe for my kids and is made with good quality material that's going to last many years but not cost me and arm and a leg. I also like the bunk beds that don't always have to be bunk beds, but you can have two twin beds if needed, like when they're small. I have seen some really cool toddler bunk beds from Ikea but what about when they grow out of them? I have a lot of good ideas when it comes to this like, well I'll have smaller ones that can go into them, but at this time we're on the look out for quality, long lasting bunk beds! What about you? Do you have bunk beds? What are you looking for or what did you get? I'm loving this South Shore l shaped Bunk Bed.

Fresh flowers make me feel wonderful when they're around in our home and they make the perfect gift. Spring Fashion Event: Haddad Brands Giveaway (Ends 5/10)

I've always been a fan of the children's products from Nike, Levi and Jordan. I can always find something I love for my kids and I know it's good quality that's going to last. Recently I was introduced to Haddad Brands the company that owns the licensing for Nike, Jordan and Levi and was able to try a number of products out on my children.

Nike, great active apparel and shoes that looks cute and fit great for kids. With tons of different styles there is something for everyone and for the sport you're a fan of. I have found that Nike tends to run on the smaller side, so I usually buy a size bigger than normal and the fit is great for my kids. As you can see in the pictures my kids all love their Nike apparel and the comfort is wonderful. My boys especially play hard and these products are made for active boys & girls.

I LOVE the Jordan Focus two piece set, both my boys having this one in blue and the other in red. The fit is perfect and I like that they have an elastic waist so they feel good, and they look cute for when they're either out playing or when we are out with friends. Jordan has a variety of products to choose from.. shoes, t-shirts, sleeveless shirts, pants, hoodies, and even oneies!

I've recently become a fan of Levi's for woman but I have always been a fan of Levi's for boys and now for girls, so I guess we're becoming a Levi's family here. The entire collection whether looking for my toddler boy or girl or my school aged son the products are great. The quality is top notch, especially if you're looking for jeans that will last. My son is so hard on jeans, I buy them and within a month there are huge holes in them. He's had a pair of Levi's for over a year that he wore at least twice a week that didn't wear out one bit, we're saving them for the next one. Now that's quality if you ask me! I love the Rusted Rigid relaxed jeans, my little guys looks like such a little man and the fit is excellent. My sister had a pair of these for her son and they are so flattering and now my little one sports them around. My husband actually saw them and said - "I want a pair like that." So many of the t-shirts are adorable as well.. my youngest is sporting just a few of the shirts we have. My daughter received a couple pairs of shorts that look great. I have found that Levi's apparel tends to run on the larger size so I purchase a size smaller than I would normally buy.
