Tiny Prints Holiday Cards - Everything You're Looking for and More

Do I dare say that it's time to start thinking holidays? It's showing everywhere already in the stores and before you know it the holiday gift guides will be out. Don't forget if you want to have the perfect holiday gift card you shouldn't procrastinate. My absolute favorite place I have ever gotten Christmas cards from has been Tiny Prints, so I'm very excited to be part of their campaign to get the word out for you all. First off I have to say that I am a big fan of Hayneedle and the selection of products available through the 200 stores. I have a few different products of different nature and all are of great quality and look fantastic. One of the latest products we have brought into our home from the Hayneedle stores is the Pem America Classic Sports Quilt - I immediately fell in love with this bedding because my son is a big sports fan, only being six when asked what he wants to be when he grows up he says - "I want to play all sports", though this is not really a realistic dream I knew he would love a quilt for his "new" big boy room that featured classic sports motif, in dark boy colors. I put it on his bed before he got home from school one day and when he saw it he was so excited, going through all the different squares. I really like that it's 100% cotton and can be machine washed - an essential when it comes to kids bedding. This is a great comforter for the big boy who loves sports!

I also received some great Hemstitch 400 thread count cotton sheet set from Elite Home Products. They are so comfortable to lay on, I wish I could switch them out with my sheets sometimes - oh and I probably would if I had a smaller bed. My son likes them and I'd definitely buy them for our future bedding in the future. Coming in different sizes and colors they're a great addition to a great quilt - there's nothing like looking a great bed but getting into a great feeling bed is even more important.

Gallery Direct - Affordable Art You'll Love

My husband and I are always on the lookout for big art work that we both love to feature in our home. The problem typically is that we agree on something and it's very expensive and over our budget. I was excited to check out a site that I had heard was affordable and carried a great selection as well as canvas and farmed art. What I was nervous about though was that what one thinks is affordable is not my affordable, so I checked out Gallery Direct and I was absolutely thrilled. Not only was the selection huge, so my husband and I were able to find something we both loved but the prices were fantastic. I also loved that I was able to purchase framed art, my absolute favorite canvas wrapped products or the art of aluminum (which I hear is amazing), paper, wood and more - truly art you love on something unique to your taste. Real Mom's Love To Eat

I want to preface this review by mentioning that I am a  Weight-Watchers Girl. I lost over 50 lbs on WW about 4 years ago and have kept it off. After having our son I lost all of the baby weight except 10 lbs. This 10lbs has been a thorn in my side and I will admit I have not gone back to weighwatchers in several months because well I think I was a little burned out. The counting, the points, etc. The program works but I need something more  then just restricting and watching what I eat. I  want to love food (like you do when you are pregnant and you feel like you can eat anything!). I also want to be healthy, I want to look for and desire foods that not only keep  my weight down but also strengthen my body with vitamins and minerals. I want to do this for myself and my family...but how?

 

The reason that I mention I am a Weight Watcher is because I want you to know how wary I am of "diet books". Quick-fixes, and yo-yo dieting do not work. You have to want a healthier life or it just isn't going to happen for  you. Which brings me to "Real Moms Love to Eat" --How to Conduct a Love Affair with Food and Still Look Fabulous" - By Beth Aldrich with Eve Adamson. 

 

I have truly never seen a "diet book" like this, which is why I am telling you,  it is not a diet book! For me it is a missing piece...I "know" what I should be eating, but why don't I do it? Well as Beth points out so blatantly in her book---we LOVE food! I don't know about you but I don't want to live on steamed vegetables--no matter how good they make me look or feel! I want variety and I want to eat the things I like...but I still want to look and feel good! This book presents a way to have both--the things you love and the things you need---and somewhere along the line those  two things start to become the same thing! I could go on and on about how great this book is but let me present to you a few of the things that made this an irresistible read:

 

-Health--This is a not a "lose 10 lbs for your bridesmaid dress" book. While it is geared to help you lose weight, look good and feel good. It is about healthy staying and remaing healthy and through that you will lose weight, look good and feel fabulous!

 

-Easy and Fun to read! Maybe you feel like you don't have time in your day to read a "health" book. This book is fun, and so easy to read. Beth shares great stories that will have you laughing and it will become your favorite before bed book!

 

-She teaches you to enjoy, savor and try new things! Contrast this with the denying, restricting and depriving which seem to be the key with most health books! She will get you excited to get out of your box and find new things to love!

 

-Her weekly plans are absolutely crucial! How many times have you read a health book--gotten excited but then flopped because you didn't have a structured way to incorporate it into your diet? After reading each chapter you get a simple to-do list. This will transform your diet in 10 weeks by simply changing/adding/trying a few things each week. You will be surprised at how easy most of them are and how excited you are about getting out to the grocery store!

 

-Does not ask you to give up your favorite foods or stick to some weird plan--Beth is pro-experimentation, finding out what you like and why, she asks you to look at what you are craving and what that means for your body. Incorporates the psychology of the person instead of just giving you a diet plan and then making you feel lousy for not being able to follow it

 

-Offers concrete recipes and delicious suggestions for breakfast, lunch and dinner that you will be excited to try out

 

-Explains the science and research behind why she is suggesting various food and what they can do for your beauty and body. This really helps you see the pay-off for why it is great for you to eat certain foods

 

Through reading this book I got turned on to many new ways of eating and preparing food that I had not thought about before. I think you will really appreciate Beth's fun, positive and on-target outlook, without being overwhelmed with too much information. She does not leave you feeling like you can't do this or that you are completely overhauling your diet in one day! Ragu - Veggie Pizza Cupcakes Recipe and $150 Gift Card Giveaway (Ends 10/5)

My biggest downfall to dinners is definitely coming up with new, creative food that my entire family is going to eat. After talking to several other mom's, family and friends I've decided I am most definitely not alone. Thanks to Ragu and becoming a Brand Ambassador and joining in on some great discussions on Ragu's facebook page I am finding new ways to get creative and what other mom's do to make their family happy. One of the things I have found is trying new recipes that can add nutrition but be very appealing to kids. Little did I know, but I can actually use Ragu's sauce for so much more than just my basic pasta.. a new favorite recipe in our house has been the Veggie Pizza Cupcakes - not only for dinners but also as we found out today for a great after school snack with friends. What I absolutely love about this recipes is that it's simple and easy plus you can add whatever you want to them. Trying to hide veggies, add them to the cupcake, have a meat lover.. add meat. The possibilities are endless and the taste fantastic. Ready to try it for yourself...

Here's the recipe for the Veggie Pizza Cupcakes, but remember you can add what you want to make it your own.

What do you need:
1pkg (12oz) refrigerated biscuits (10 biscuits)
1 tsp. olive oil
1-1/2 cups assorted diced fresh vegetables (I used onion, zucchini, summer squash, and green pepper for my veggie)
1-1/2 cups Ragu sauce (they suggest Old World Style or Organic Pasta) I like the sweet tomato basil & original. 
1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese (2 oz) I used more because my family loves cheese. 

How To Make Them: 
Preheat your over to 375 degrees. Unroll biscuits and press each into a 3-inch round cupcake pan. Evenly press each biscuit in bottom and up the sides of each cup in a muffin pan. Chill until ready to fill. 


Heat olive oil over medium heat in 10-inch skillet and cook vegetables, stirring occasionally, five minutes or until tender. Stir in your choice Pasta sauce and bring to a boil over high heat. Reduce heat to low and simmer 2 minutes or until slightly reduced. 


Evenly spoon vegetable mixture into prepared muffin cups. Bake 15 minutes. Evenly sprinkle tops with cheese and bake an additional 5 minutes or until cheese is melted and biscuits are golden. Let stand five minutes before removing. Remove and serve. 

Yummy and super easy to make, just another great recipe that you can make with Ragu sauce. You won't be disappointed. Everyone loves these in our home.

I love when a company you already are a fan of comes out with new products because you know they're going to be great. My daughter absolutely loves this and I love that it's all contained in a little carry box that keeps it all contained. Filled with over 50 shaped magnets she loves making scenes and using her imagination with the princesses and like. It also features a dry erase board so she can really create and I love the write on and wipe off activity book - she practices writing, tracing, coloring and the other activities included. It's perfect for your little princess in your life. Definitely worth every penny and only $16.99. There is also one called Trucks, perfect for your little guy.

Another new product from innovativeKids is the bath time puzzles. I'm always looking for something new to add to the bath time and all my kids are huge puzzle junkies so the Deep Sea Dive Chunky Puzzle Playset, though geared for 2+ all my kids love it for the bath time. The pieces are chunky and aren't only fun for putting a puzzle together but with them being soft foam they stick on the bath as well making for a deep sea adventure. I like that they all stick well into soft foam puzzle board so it can be put away easy and even carried with the handle. My toddler loves for bath time and non-bath time. Another excellent product.

Hosting a birthday, picnic or holiday party? Finding something fun for the kids (and even the adults) to do can be a challenge, particularly if you are limited on space or having the party inside. Recently I hosted an Italian night fund-raiser at our church and was in charge of putting together some fun entertainment for the kids. When I had the opportunity to review Python Printable Games Kids Picnic Pack I jumped at the chance! Python takes all of the work out of planning party games for you by putting together packages of fun and interactive games for kids and adults alike for any party or occasion. I chose the picnic pack because it seemed to fit the theme of our party the best. The pack included games that kids could do on their own, like the "are you an alien quiz" or the "fairy tale paper dolls" and also games they could play in groups, like the "picnic scavenger hunt" and the "What's wrong with this burger, left/right" game.  All together there were 18 games we could play! Some of these games would be more geared for adults--like the chocolate or wine trivia questions--but it was really nice that they included something for everyone! What I really liked about these games were that they could really fit any group (from 5+). We weren't sure what age children we were going to be entertaining at the party but since we had so many different games there were things that the little kids and the teenagers would enjoy. Also, it was really nice to have a mix of active and sit-down quiet games to choose from. Another great use for these games would be when kids are waiting to eat or if you are going out to eat. There are several "quieter" games where the kids can fill out a quiz or answer trivia questions, perfect when your in a situation where kids have to be patient! Invisible Glass Cleaner & Rain Repellent Giveaway (Ends 9/29)

I can handle of my household windows are streaky or have a little murk to them, though I do try to keep them clean as best I can - however I cannot drive my vehicle when there are streaks or that murky foggy look is on the window. Sesame Street: Ready, Set, Grover! Wii Game.

I have a love hate relationship when it comes to video games. I like to play them on occasion but I can see how one can get sucked into them and never quit playing. This easily happens to my six year old so finding the balance can be a challenge and I like to be selective about what games I let him and now my four year old daughter play as well. A new game added to our Wii collection is the Sesame Street, Ready, Set, Grover game. I have been very pleased with the game as even my four year old has an easy time playing (and most games aren't easy for her). The game is a lot more interactive and promotes physical activity unlike many other games we've seen that are supposed to do the same thing. What you do is set up a profile and Grover sets up a series of different challenges that help Abby and Elmo go. There are all kinds of obstacles to do and all while learning different things like counting, shapes, colors, about nutrition, hygiene and much more. It's a game that I know my kids are learning something, moving around and still having fun. I also like that parents can get into the game with another remote to help younger kids that may need a little help so it really is great for even the younger kids.The game is also available on Nintendo DS and is only screen tapping. we've been very happy with the game and definitely one of our favorites when it comes to Wii games for the kids. Fun in the Dark with Glow Crazy & Giveaway (Ends 9/27)

I believe my family and I have been introduced to one of the funnest in the dark products around right now - the Glow Crazy Distance Doodler and the Glow Crazy Glow to Go products. I seriously wish I was better at taking in the dark pictures because unlike some products that appear to work great and don't - these work just as great as what the video's and website say. First the Distance Doodler is really neat, it comes with large canvas wall clings that stick on walls or ceilings, but you don't have to stick them for them to work, then add batteries to the wand and draw, write, and create. It's so neat and the glow lasts for three minutes - we've been having endless fun. The Glow to Go has been wonderful as well - great for late nights in the car, or just another fun activity while it's dark. It's an actual pad, that has pages of different colors. Draw, create, write and the glow stays and is so much fun. Also with the products are stencils so you can lay them down and create moons, spaceships and other things. They also have Christian stencils which I think is really nice feature. My husband and I have even been having a lot of fun with these products with the kids and I know you will too.
