  46. I have observed that in old digital cameras, specialized sensors help to aim automatically.
    Those kind of sensors connected with some cams change in
    in the area of contrast, while others use a beam involving infra-red (IR) light, especially in low lighting.
    Higher spec cameras often use a combination of both models and will often have Face Priority AF where the dslr camera can 'See' the face as you concentrate only upon that.
