Organizing in the New Year

January is organization month.. pretty fitting for the first month of the year. Ellen over at Thrifty & Chic Mom got me motivated with her 31 days of Organizing Challenge. Since she started I got my computer desk organized and looking nice again, organized the game closet and a junk drawer and cupboard in the kitchen.. go me! Last night when I put the boys to bed I had a hard time getting into their closet.. I picked some of it up and then decided that would be my next go to organization project for today. There room still needs attention but the closet is good!

The shelves are now as organized as they can be and my older son has things that are up out of reach of his younger 3 year old brother. Bins for smaller toys, a tote for dress up, a dirty laundry basket. I know it's unrealistic to think it will stay looking nice all the time, but at least it's put together with some totes that actually have specific things for items and I threw a lot out! I as also able to put my sons Lego/Mega Bloks Creations displayed on a shelf in his room instead of just thrown on the top shelf of the closet.. he will be excited when he gets home from school.

Maybe now I'll get all the closets done! Thanks Ellen for the motivation and I encourage you all to join in. One little project a day and maybe a bigger one on the weekend.. you'll feel good & your space will look great.
