7. My name is Andrea, and find it a little surreal that people refer to me as Momma in Flip Flops, but I guess as the years go by and that's the name you have on many profiles, what else should I be known as!? I also go by.. Mom, Mommy, & Ang... or whatever weird name my husband calls me.. you know like on Ray from I Love Raymond.. he always calls Deborah some strange name.. well that's me at times. ;) Oh.. and yes, I really like that show. I can relate something to almost all the episodes. Ha!
6. I'm the oldest of twelve.. yep.. that's right.. twelve children. Two of which are adopted (the youngest two)...the youngest is the same age as my daughter five and they are quite the pals. My family is pretty awesome for the most part, we have our tifts with each other, but really.. there is nothing like a sibling! I love them all. We (my husband and I) currently have four children - three boys & a girl.. and two little loves in heaven. Right now in life the thought of having twelve children myself.. well it
5. I was home schooled.. all the way until I went to college and graduated as an Registered Nurse. I like to think back on those times as fun, crazy.. and why didn't I do my studies more often! (Sorry mom).. ha ha.. keepin' it real is all! I wanted to be a veterinarian when I was younger.. I suppose.. just maybe a nurse isn't that far from that. We only have one child in school right now and though I thought about it, and certainly will never say.. never.. homeschooling is not for me. Our kids go to Catholic school and I feel ever so blessed to be there.
4. I mentioned last month sometime.. I've had my babies at home. My mom has delivered them all with another dear friend. If I were ever to go back to work I think I'd like to be a CNM..birth is a beautiful thing if you really understand it. It seems like I'm out of this stage in my life.. where I was all gung-ho and talking about it all the time.. but I'm passionate about breastfeeding, baby wearing, home birth, attached parenting, and the likes. I have grown though as the years have gone by and know that every one's life is different and what works for one doesn't necessarily work for another. All is very dear to me though!
3. I met the love of my life when I was nineteen.. dated through most of college and got married four months after I graduated. Kurt is his name and also like I Love Raymond... I call him whatever weird name that fits at the moment! My hubby is an Engineer and a hard workin' one at that. It takes a certain women to be married to an Engineer.. they're a breed of their own. I won't trade him though.
2. I was born & raised Catholic.. but I guess like a lot.. didn't take my faith all that serious until after I had kids. My husband converted before we got married. We're pretty active in our faith & continue to grow everyday. Currently we (my hubs and I) are part of our Marriage Building team at church, which is where my heart truly is! I also put together our moms group with my friend Jen (she has a pretty awesome blog by the way).. we have a lovely group of women.. nothing like moms growing together in holiness.
1. I've been blogging since 2008 and though I admit I almost gave it up when pregnant with my last love (who is 12 weeks old now), I'm so glad I didn't. It's something I truly enjoy & if you've been around for awhile.. you'll notice... I love fashion. With that said.. have you seen our What I Wore.. Real Mom Style yet? I have also met some amazing people through blogging & have a community of it's own with many of them. You know who you all are!
So there you have it.. a little about me.. maybe you knew.. maybe you didn't. Check out others participating in the 7 Quick Takes Friday hosted by Conversion Diaries.
Some of that I knew, and some I didn't. It's nice to learn more about a friend! :) Thanks for sharing! BTW, I love that you started a moms group. Wish we had one, I might actually know some people at our parish then.
ReplyDeleteThanks friend! We had a wonderful FAMILIA group, but after it finished nothing started up again. God was definitely pulling at my heart & the same with Jen's.. I hardly knew her. We met up one day.. both said the same thing and said .. "lets do this".. and it was born! :) we basically just organize it.. it takes the group of ladies to really make it. Have you prayed about it? Maybe you're the one to start your group & maybe another friend so you don't have it all on your shoulders? Thanks for stopping by.
DeleteOk you have inspired me I think I will do a 7 Quick Takes today I have been saying I will get more personal so here we go...
ReplyDeleteDo it, we all have to branch out after awhile. :)
DeleteI love this!!
ReplyDeleteI'd love to hear more about the Marriage Building Team at your church! I think my husband and I are a strong team, but I think that marriage is something that can be continually worked on!
Thanks Sara. I was feeling a little nervous, I'm not all that public on my blog other than my review features, etc. :)
DeleteWe have a small growing team in our Parish that's part of the Marriage Building Ministry. There are conferences our diocese put on that we attend and then we put on programs in our church. We host date night, babysitting and do movie nights as of right now. It's a great program to help people strength their marriages.
You and I have a lot in common! I'm the second oldest of 11, had one of my babies at home, I also have four kids, and a, passionate about all that baby wearing, breastfeeding, etc, too! Oh, and before I moved to cold cold South zlorea, i wore flip flops probably 330 days/year. :). When I'm not homeschooling (ok, so we're not twins exactly :)) I teach childbirth classes.
ReplyDeleteThis was really fun to read. Thanks for sharing!
Wow, we do a lot in common. I'm going to have to check out your site. Visit again! :)
DeleteWow, what a cool life! I was homeschooled as well. I also chose home birth for both of my births and LOVE it! I love your sense of fashion. :)
ReplyDeleteIsn't it amazing how you can meet people similar to you!? :) Thanks.
