Fall Fashion Event :: Women's Apparel from DownEast Basics #Giveaway (Ends 10/9)

*Another Non-Maternity review from my friend Jen. She looks fabulous in this tunic, read on.*

A while back I was introduced to DownEast Basics by getting their capri jeans (love!), so I was thrilled to try something new from them. Here I am trying their "Coming Home Tunic" in Redwood. I was attracted to the color, pattern and length of the top, and upon receiving it I was not disappointed. While I am not the biggest fashion gu-ru, I did notice from coverage of Fashion Week in New York City recently that patterns and texture are in. While both of these elements are not something I typically put into my wardrobe, this piece allowed for both. And after seeing how well this top worked for me, I can't wait to find other ways to incorporate a little more flair into my closet.
I paired the tunic with a pair of black capri leggings, and I LOVED the comfortability of it. After wearing it all day, I am confident in saying that it is versatile in many ways: It would look great dressed up or down, running errands or out to drinks with girlfriends, or worn in warm weather or cooler weather. Something else that I love about this tunic is the detail: there is edging on the sleeves, braiding on the front shoulders and a contrasting pattern on the bottom. All of these things allow it to be feminine without being form-fitting, which is always a nice option to have!
