I have been absolutely loving the commercial videos and radio clips from Ragu and their
Long Day of Childhood campaign. They're continually making me laugh and some of you may know how much I've been enjoying them from the random facebook posts & tweets when I see a commercial I just love. The
Young & Footloose ad has me cracking up, have you seen it?
Ragu knows that childhood is tough and they're selling their pasta sauce that way, believe me even though I'm a lover of Ragu and that's the pasta I always go for for my family, the commercials make me want to whip some up for my family immediately. Did I ever mention the Greenpepper and mushroom sauce is amazing!? It is, get it!
Ragu wants to hear from you and your Long Day of Childhood stories, check them out on
facebook and start sharing. I have one that sticks out - I took driver education over the summer and my family had recently gotten a big ol' red and tan van (old school) it was a bit rusty, talk about embarrassment driving up in that when you're about to turn 16. Ouch!
Share your story & by doing so you can

ReplyDeleteWe took a camping trip when I was really little, 7 or 8 or so. We were living in Colorado at the time. It was pouring down rain and we had a Toyota 4x4 with fold down seats in the back. My brother and I got motion sick with the bumpy dirt road that was treacherous with mud and rocks. There in front of us was a huge puddle and my dad thought we could go right through it. That is, until he got our axle pinned on the giant fallen tree that was hidden in the huge puddle. So mom and dad in the pouring rain pried, prodded, pushed, shoved, and maneuvered while hikers walked by and stared, and a bunch of people on horseback, and a guy on a moped who quipped, "Well, looks like you're stuck!" and finally a couple on mountain bikes that helped us out. We finally got to where we were going to camp. Mom and dad set up the tent and we finally got in it only to discover that dad left the camping heater at home! They didn't talk the entire way home, and mom called the mountain bikers over for dinner. It was one of the most memorable days ever!

ReplyDeleteMy parents called and said they were going to be late. I was babysitting my brothers-again... And we were getting hungry. I had to tell them to wait because I wasn't allowed to cook unless someone was home. They were being little brothers and were bugging me so we started a water fight in the house :) Needless to say the time flew by and we had a lot of fun. They didn't even remember that they were sooo hungry.

One Sunday for dinner my mother made Salisbury steak. I hated it, and couldn't eat it. This really angered her, and she told me I couldn't leave the table until it was gone. It was early afternoon on a summer Sunday, and I could hear my friends playing outside, and my family doing various things inside the house, but I sat at the kitchen table ALL DAY LONG because I refused to eat that terrible, terrible steak! one of my long days of childhood was when I studied and studied for and won the school and city spelling bees... which was great. However, living in Maine I was totally unprepared for the county bee person having a Southern drawl. Nothing wrong with that, but when she said address it sounded like a dress, and I lost on a super easy word it was definitely a very long day :(
