Good Morning! It's Friday - grab your coffee, tea.. water.. whatever! Put a smile on your face, be joyful to those around you and welcome to my 7 Quick Takes Friday!!!
7. Lent has begun, and I admit I'm rather enthusiastic about it this year. I'm ready to "clean" out you might say and get focused on what's important. I'm trying to keep it real this year and gave up sweets and adding a few things more into my daily routine to not only draw me closer to Christ but also be more attentive to my family. My kids are quite proud as we finished our Lenten Journey Calender, and they have enjoyed crossing out their first few days.
6. I am really enjoying Instagram. The sharing of photo's and seeing people's lives that way is fun for me, as I'm much more of a visual person. I'm participating in a few fun photo a day challenges. You can follow me on Instagram and give me a shout out if you'd like a follow back.
5. This week I pushed myself out of my comfort zone and finally tackled the getting of groceries with three kids, five and under. It would have been fine but the baby started screaming by the end. I suppose it will just take awhile to find that new normal outside the home "alone." It was easier when I had my summer babies .. the wrap was easy to get on. Now I have a snow suit, infant seat and the works to deal with. Boo! I also managed the library, a quick shopping trip (one store) that I actually tried pants on, and Mass with all three on my own. I think I deserve a high five or something!
4. I finally got some transition pants. I couldn't take it anymore only having maternity that are slowly getting to big for me. I found several pairs on clearance at JcPenney's - mustard and pink skinny ankle jeans, khaki's and a pair of regular washed jeans. Yay!!
3. It's been a month now that I have quit drinking caffiene and haven't eaten broccoli or cauliflower. I admit, I'm really missing my large sweet tea from McDonald's, but I can definitely tell the wee ones tummy is much better now that I've eliminated it. Anyone else have to limit what they eat while breastfeeding and how did you know you needed too?
2. I always get excited for our fashion events and can't believe this will be our Fourth Spring Fashion Event coming up here in March. Ellen of Thrifty & Chic Mom and I have been working hard on it & have some great companies lined up. More for that to come, but I'm excited!!
1. My husband has been away part of this week traveling for work. I'm a bit bitter that it was over Valentine's Day, but I'm trying not to complain (too much.) He will hopefully be home before the kids go to bed tonight *fingers crossed*. Whenever my husband is gone or working later than normal (which has been more lately with a new position), I have to say.. I gain a little more appreciation for you ladies that have hubby's that travel regularly, who are gone all the time or even you military mommas (and I'm sure others) you people rock!
