First off Menards has these stones on sale right now for .89 cents each and there are several different colors to choose from. We already have this color around our home so it matched perfectly. We already had the bowl from our old fire pit, so my husband took the bolts out and after a few adjustments, locked perfectly into the stones. If you look at instructions for different pits everyone does it differently. We just found a level spot, killed the grass around (which has yet to die in the photo's) and built it. It looks fabulous and for $27 you can't get any better than this!
Lay out material and place first layer of stone. You are going to want to make the base bigger than the top of the fire pit will be because they will go up to form a smaller hole.
Husband staggering the second layer of stone.
Second layer completely finished. We started out with a bigger base and each layer when it just a bit.
Completely finished! Just waiting for the bowl.
That look so easy to do and looks very nice. Thanx for sharing

ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing this with us! Oh, I so love the finished product! Did your husband do it all on his own? It looks so easy to do! I’ll definitely have to try making one in our little backyard. Wish me luck! PS: Yes, I am sharing this with my friends! =)
