Let me just get into the BabaSling, for one it's super comfortable. That's the first thing both my sister and I said when putting it on with baby.. "wow, it's so comfortable" and even after wearing. In the past I've found that slings bothered my back immediately. There either wasn't enough cushion or there was way to much. The BabaSling has the perfect amount of padding over your shoulder making it comfy. I also really like the buckle design, you can just unbuckle if baby falls asleep and you want to lay them down, and the buckle makes it very easy to put on and adjust. An easy adjustable carrier is an absolute must! The railing of the BabaSling is also padded and can easily be adjusted by just pulling the straps individually. So you can have the upper rail tighter than the inner, or the opposite. Another feature that's great and a must have! One thing that always made me nervous about a sling was safety, however the BabaSling has a safety buckle that when you hear an audible click you know it's secured and then the big buckle, just for added safety for baby. The BabaSling is made for a weight range of 7.7 -33lbs, and ages of 0-2, available in several fabulous colors as well as the BabaSling organic and the BabaSling Lite for those warmer or more active parents.
Check out the BabaSling on the Joovy website and get ready for a comfortable sling for your babe that you can wear in many different ways - like the Easy Tiger, Sleeping Tiger, Koala Cuddle, Little Joey, and Side Saddle all depending on your little ones age and even learn to breastfeed discreetly and comfortable in your sling. Takes a little practice, but with the easy to use instructions provided you'll be a baby wearing parent in no time! I'm looking forward to using this more once my new little babe arrives, but until then my sister can enjoy wearing her babe in comfort and style with this fabulous product.

That sling is a bag sling. The first picture shows exactly why this sling is unsafe. Your baby is nearly covered by thick, padded fabric and were you to let go, he would sink chin-to-chest. Both factors are VERY high risk for rapid suffocation. This sling is DANGEROUS!

DeleteEditing your post to remove the pictures illustrating danger, but keeping the glowing review, is unethical.
ReplyDeleteThis product is not unsafe at all, I own one and never has my child been in danger, slings like all children's products must be used appropriately following the manufacturers instructions. When used properly this is a great product for both mom and baby.
ReplyDeleteI have used slings like this for three of my kids, never fearing that I would suffocate them. I have used the Joovy Strollers and gosh this looks pretty good. From what I have researched with the company, I am sure they have done what they needed to do to ensure it's a good product. I am a stinker for following rules, especially when it comes to my kids, so I guess I just can't relate to the first gal's comment. I would definitely love to try this product out. It looks very comfortable, easy and I love all the positions available so this can grow with my child too. Thanks for sharing yet another great product with us! :)
ReplyDeleteI'd love to see an over the shoulder shot so we could see baby's face in proximity to yours. It sounds like you are an avid babywearer, so you know that baby should always be close enough to kiss, and from your pictures, I can't tell. I think your baby is but that might be why your first commenter is so concerned. :)
ReplyDeleteTo be honest, any babywearing device can be dangerous if not used properly. It's up to those of us who love babywearing to educate and do the right thing.
I love your honest review, but you need lots and lots of photos so people can really see how the BabaSling should be properly used. :)
First commenter - I am sorry I did not respond to your comment sooner. I admit I am not that great with the camera and after your comment realized that the picture was that not the best to show just how the carrier works. I am working on getting better pictures. I understand your concern, but I assure you we are and have been using the the sling correctly. You should absolutely use all caution while wearing your baby in any carrier and educate yourself on how each and every single one of them work.
ReplyDeleteThanks other comments for your thoughts. I appreciate them all and it helps me grow as a reviewer and publisher. I've been baby wearing for several years and know many moms who help me learn carriers as well. :)
I love this sling! I used a sling with all 4 of our children and I couldn't agree more with some of the above comments. Any product that you have for your baby has to be used correctly and when used correctly, this sling is not only safe but totally amazing, just like every other Joovy product I have ever seen/used. I am looking forward to purchasing one for my bestie who is having her first baby soon!

ReplyDeleteWe love this sling! I didn't think I would be a sling fan but this is great! I think everyone should try it out before bashing it.
ReplyDeleteBeing 100% cotton, naturally the fabric will fade a little over time. The fabric is color fast so the fading should be quite minimal.
